Mercimek Köftesi (Red Lentil Meat-less-balls)

I recently bought a cookbook in English about Turkish cooking. I had done research on which one I wanted before buying and finally found one that suited me best. I could have hung around some old women and have them teach me, but lots of "uh a little of this, that and done!" wouldn't work for me.

My first creation was mercimek köftesi, made of red lentils, bulgur, spices, onions and so on.

First had to wash 2 cups of lentils

Boiled the lentils in 3-4cups of water, turn off heat and then added 1,5cups of bulgur, stirred together and cooled.

Then add all the other ingredients. Parsley and scallions I had growing in my kitchen and diced onions (sauteed). Also black pepper, cinnamon, red pepper, salt and tomato salçisi.

Mix it with the lentil and bulgur mixture. Then form it into ovally shapes.

Then serve with bread and lemon.

This was kind of a pain to make due to the fact that I didn't know it would end up being this huge amount. Otherwise it was fun. I just don't know what to do with it all now.
