This goddess greeted us when we entered. I heard she's the worst player on her bowling team.
Both Millet and Priene were very quiet and empty in comparison to Ephesus. At Priene, there was only one our tour group from Germany with us at the same time. When our guide said the next stop was tea and dessert at Lake Bafa, our group took off like a pack of starving wolves being told there was meat at the bottom of the hill. Everyone races down the steep, slippery, old, rickety steps and blows past the German tourists. A woman said to her husband "oh, we should move out of their way" and kindly stepped aside of our stampede. I thanked her in German and told her that at the bottom of the hill there was going to be cake! Because Germans undersand very well how important afternoon cake is. I think she understood our urgency after that.
